We are a multipurpose organization open year round that offers skating to the public, youth and adult hockey, learn to skate classes, figure skating, birthday parties, day camps, group outings, broomball, and private rentals. Our facility contains rental skates, a concession stand, four locker rooms with showers, a women's locker room, two multipurpose birthday party rooms, a mezzanine viewing area, and pro shop with skate sharpening. Facility Tour

Welcome to the Ice House

Here, at the front desk, you will be welcomed by one of our knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff members. They will be able to assist you with anything you need while visiting the coolest place in town.

Entrance Lobby

This is the view upon entry. You are looking towards the front of the rink behind the Home goal. Continue forward and you will find our pro shop, locker rooms, and birthday party rooms. Enjoy your visit!

Main Viewing Area

Along this side of the rink you will find skate rental, skate sharpening, restrooms, vending machines, and our snack bar with seating area.

The Ice Rink

The ice surface is the official NHL size at 200' long x 85' wide. Common events on the ice are public skating, hockey, figure skating, learn to skate classes, and many others. The ice is available to rent for your group outing.

Skate Rental

We have over 850 skates available for rent. We rent both figure and hockey skates from youth size 8 to adult size 14. Skates run much larger than shoes so, when renting skates, be sure that the skates fit tight and are tied tight. Skates typically run 1 to 2 sizes larger than shoes.

Locker Rooms

Our four team locker rooms are each equipped with full size individual wooden stalls for each player. We have two shower and restroom facilities available and are each shared by two locker rooms. We also have a locker room available for ladies only.

Snack Bar

Our fully stocked snack bar serves most common snack bar items including pizza, hot dogs, soft pretzels, popcorn, packaged candies, sodas, slushies, bottled water, Gatorade, and many other popular items. A seating area accompanies the snack bar. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Mezzanine

This is the view of the rink from the mezzanine. A great overhead view of the ice makes this is a popular place to watch youth and adult hockey games.

Pro Shop

Our shop carries a selection of hockey equipment, hockey skates, figure skates, and figure skating accessories. If we don't have it in stock, we can special order it!

Wall of Champions

We are proud to display the accomplishments of our hockey and figure skating customers where they will be seen for years to come.

Birthday Party Rooms

Your party is very important to us. Three of our party packages are held in one of our two party rooms. Guests, with the service from one of our hosts or hostesses, can enjoy cake, ice cream, pizza, popcorn, and drinks while singing Happy Birthday and opening gifts.

The Zamboni

The Zamboni is the star of our show. People of all ages enjoy watching it operate. Charlie Brown says there are three things that people can't take their eyes off of: a waterfall, a burning fire, and a Zamboni in action. There has even been a song written about driving one. It can do in 10 minutes what took 90 minutes and 3 people before its invention in 1949. Our Zamboni is a 1997 model 500 with a four cylinder Volkswagen engine.

How it works

The Zamboni shaves a layer of ice, collects the shaved ice and snow from the surface in the front of the machine, and lays water, forming the finished product you see behind the machine.

We get questions very often about how we make our ice, how thick it is, and just what is under the surface.
Ice rinks that host events requiring them to remove their ice frequently have a concrete base. An example would be a large arena. Rinks that do not remove their ice very often use a sand base. Buildings like the Ice House that have year round ice skating typically have a sand base. The two bases perform the same, but sand bases require you to level the surface before freezing where the concrete surface remains level.
It takes up approximately one week to build our ice from the time that we turn on our refrigeration plant. We typically remove the ice to do work on the floor every 3-4 years. The ideal thickness of the ice above the paint and lines is about 3/4". Maintaining this thickness requires constant attention from both Zamboni drivers and ice maintenance personnel.

Indoor Air Quality

The safety of our guests and staff are of the utmost importance to us. We routinely monitor our indoor air quality to ensure it is safe for you. Our Zamboni burns clean fuel exhausted through a catalytic converter. Our Munters air handling unit purges and recirculates fresh air continuously. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact General Manager Chuck Burch.
